Instructions on? Samples of skin?
all new skinnable UI
Hi shannon, i'll ask the author of the application to give us a few tips on skinning :)
I am so glad to see this project up and running again, its a great little program. I hope it is still Amarullz developing it.
One question on the new version, I get a plugin error when I use the key for it, default to center button, it used to display memory, battery, clock etc.. now it just gives an error. Is it still in development, it says it is looking in the Storage Card for something on the error.
Keep up the good work
@BrianK: yes it is Amarullz' work. The plugin is still in development. Maybe it his next release he'll be able fix the plugin :)
Thats really nice...SmartToolKit is still alive...will the next release be launched here? What about e-natives?!?However, your blog is in my everyday-Favlist anyway...
Thank you for adding my blog to your "Favlist" :)
The Full and Final release of SmartToolkit will still be published by the authro himself on his website. But i think he will change his website's server first.
- "General" of STK doesn't even open
- No way of using the normal softkeys? Like that much more
- "Plugins" page doesn't work
- "Hide Softkeys after X seconds" doesn't work
All on WM6, HTC S710
Apart from that, it's really a nice update. The analog clock on screensaver is sweet :) Hope the things will be fixed with the final version.
BTW .. What's up with e-Natives? The page still shows Alpha4 as current version. How did it come that you are publishing the new version?
@ Christoph,
- "General" of STK doesn't even open
* yes it doesn't work yet
- No way of using the normal softkeys? Like that much more
* in your HS? yes i think he deliberately did that
- "Plugins" page doesn't work
* still doesnt work as of this build
- "Hide Softkeys after X seconds" doesn't work
* hmm, it works on my htc excalibur
BTW .. What's up with e-Natives? The page still shows Alpha4 as current version. How did it come that you are publishing the new version?
* ive been talking to the author and he allowed me to publish his latest build. He is planning on changing his web server that is why he hasn't updated e-Natives yet
Thanks for the answers.
Do you have any mail or ICQ or anything where I can contact Amarullz? I'd like to talk to him a bit ...
You can drop me the mail address or ICQ# or MSN @ ThisWorksForSure {at} krisdoff "d0t" net. Thanks in advance.
@Christoph, the author regularly visits this blog and he might answer your questions here, or give his IM contact ID to you directly. I'm not sure if he would want me to give out his IM id (no offense meant sir.) :)
SmartToolKit website e-natives.com has a posting by its creator on what to do to limit Lockup/Freezes. It is for the latest version RC09-CORE 1, but from my experience, will apply to all versions.
The bottom line is, disable when possible, or use defaults when not, all the extra stuff 'gadgets' and 'plugins' and other options that come with, but are less important than, SmartToolKit's primary purpose. That is, the customizable and organizable XP/Vista like START Menu.
Since many, if not most, 'extras' with this app are enabled when first installed, you need to read the developers posting regarding stability problems on some phones running other apps etc, and start with the BASE START MENU function to check for stablility on your phone for a few days of use, then and only then, begin to enable 'extras', one at a time testing for a few days use each one, before adding more.
SmartToolKit is a great and FREE app, but the developer is trying to do too many things, before solving bug issues from last revision of the 'base' app. Still, it is well worth using, even if it means you may have to reboot from time to time.
He has put an awful lot of thought and work into this excellent app, so remember to hit his PayPal button to thank him if you continue to use it on your phone.
