ShortcutCreator - FREEWARE POCKETPC

oruam57 of xda-dev: I was tired of making shortcuts by manual editing, so I made this editor.
To install extract ShortcutCreator.exe and the other assemblies and copy them where you like.
The icon browser is not (yet) implemented.
This is beta so be careful before editing system shortcuts!
The program requires .NET Compact Framework 1 and it was tested on a HTC Magician with WM 2003SE.

deltaLock - FREEWARE POCKETPC

deltaLock locks your Pocket PC's screen and buttons while it's in your pocket playing music or doing whatever would require it to stay switched on. To lock your screen simply launch deltaLock and your screen will turn off. To unlock your screen again, press and hold down two hardware buttons. The default IDs of these buttons are 195 and 198, which correspond to the "Windows" and "OK" buttons of a HTC Blue Angel but may vary with different hardware.

To install, download the binary below, extract the zip file, then run the included cab on your Pocket PC. Note that you need the Microsoft .NET Compact Framework V1.0 (or any later version) to run deltaLock.

I have just added ability to control volume while device is locked.

The applications consists of two exe files. First, deltaConfig is used to set key codes for unlocking / controling volume. Second, deltaLock, locks device. You can set two keys for unlocking (they have to be pressed simultaneously) and one for each "Volume Up", "Volume Down", "Mute". By pressing volume buttons system sound volume changes, so it is useful not only when music is playing but also when the phone ringing or you are in the middle of conversation. By now, there are 10 sound levels available (common 5 is not enough for me but 10 is Ok), it could be increased later (sound volume variable type in windows systems is word, so it can be any integer in range [0..2^16-1].

The best way to lock your device is to bind deviceLock to one of hardware keys. It can be done by Settings->Button, but it is better to configure unlock buttons first.

Install Builder - FREEWARE POCKETPC

Install Builder is a free standalone application that allow novice user to create setup cabinet for Pocket PC and Smart Phone. Install Builder use a simple ini file to store project settings, you can use simple editor like notepad to edit the ini file.

The setup cabinet contain binary encoded and xml installation file plus all application files. It support two installation mode (ActiveSync --> PPC, PPC --> PPC). The setup cabinet can copy files, make shortcuts and add registry keys.

Install Builder generate the installation file (encoded&xml) directly, so it does not require CABWIZ.EXE, however it does require CABARC.exe (one of the file in MS Cabinet SDK) to create cabinet file, you can obtain it here.

Pocket Ancestry is a program that gives you a possibility to view genealogy information from the file in GEDCOM format. Not all the attributes of GEDCOM standard are taken into account. ThemeGenCE Tips from newbie2

This is a tip on how to make your Today screen FULL, without the looping image created when you use Vijay's ToggleStart

The author of this very helpful instruction is newbie2 of XDA-DEV.

"I assume you've already downloaded ThemeGen?? Also, I'm assuming you're using a QVGA device. If not, let me know, and I'll update the instructions to include the correct resolutions for a VGA device.

If you're wanting to use your own image for the Today Screen image, you need to resize the image to AT LEAST 320x320 (if the bottom task bar is removed) and/or 350x350 (if BOTH top and bottom bars are removed). The "square" image will allow you to view the theme in both portrait and landscape modes, and the 320x320 is the resolution of the themes that Microsoft creates. Once you've resized your image, open Theme Generator and in the middle of the screen, click "Options".

Click "Customized", instead of "QVGA"


For the "Today" and "Start" height and width, enter the EXACT pixel size of the image you're going to be using.

Then, click "validate" to close the window. You'll be back at the main window. On the top menu bar, click the brown image/star ("choose/modify the images").

A new window will open. Click on the camera icon to load your image. The first image you're going to build is the Today image, so make sure that's selected in "Image to Build" to the right of the preview screen. Then, go to the top menu bar and select "eval". You'll want to choose the optimized GIF image to save as your Today image, so click that choice. Then, save your image.

It will ask if you want to overwrite the existing image -- say "yes".

Next, you're going to build the Start image the very same way. Make sure "start" is selected in "Image to Build" to the right of the preview screen. Then "eval" and save just like you did for the Today screen. Once you've built your Today and Start images, click the red button with the white circle on the top menu to go back to the main screen.

Once you're back, click "options" again. THIS TIME, select QVGA and validate.

You can now make your custom color selections for the rest of your theme -- font color, notification colors, tap-and-hold dots, etc. When you're finished and have previewed your choices, save your theme to the PC and/ior PPC -- giving your theme a name.

When you load it to your device, there shouldn't be any "looping" of the image now."

SIPChange - FREEWARE POCKETPC

SIPChange has two execution modes. If executed with no parameter, it presents the list of SIPs available on your device and allows you to select a default. Once set, this information is stored in the registry. If executed with "SET" as the parameter it minimizes itself, reads the default from the registry and waits 10 seconds. When the timeout expires, it sets the Current SIP to your selected default and closes.

How to use:
1. Copy Sipchange.exe to your favorite programs directory
2. create a shortcut in your startup directory to execute sipchange with a "SET" parameter.
ie your shortcut execution parameter should look something like this:

"\program files\sipchange\sipchange.exe" SET

Now open SIPChange by tapping on the exe file (don't tap the shortcut here). You will be presented with a list of your available SIPs. Highlight the one you want to become the defaultIM and tap the "Set Default" button. The SIP will be changed to your selection and SIPChange will close.

That's it! The next time you (or your automatic nightly backup) resets your device, the default SIP will be reset to your choice.
