is this gonna work on the TMOBILE WM6?

oldSAP said...

there "should" be no problem, but some members at xda-dev with TMo ROM say the message goes directly to their Inobx. I'm waiting for other HTC WM6 ROM users to try this out so that i can single out the problem.

Hi I have tried it on my dash but it doesnt catch the incomming sms messages. Its tmobile wm6

Anonymous said...

ditto for a wm6 t mobile user

Anonymous said...

I see you have a updated version. Does it try to fix the problem with tmo dash?

oldSAP said...

yes i'ts already fixed, as i've mentioned in the updated post above :)

you theman its working great on tmobile wm6

Would love an option to turn off the smileys. They keep changing works like look into lo(SMILEY)....

Also, on Motorola Q and the D function doesn't work to delete a thread.

oldSAP said...

i will add the smiley on/off option in the nest build. btw can you get the keycode for "D" in motoq?

Is there anyway to make the text build down, instead of up.. i'm used to having the last reply at the bottom.. is there an easy way to tweak this?

I am using T-mobile WM6
When I am typing a message to someone and I recieve a message before I click send. It deletes what I hve typed. It is really annoying. Especially when it is a rather lengthy message. Please fix this, other than that....IT is a GREAT program!

oldSAP said...

i deliberately added that feature so that you won't mis-send the message you composed. Click on Tab and "V" to re-paste the message you typed :)
Thank you for using sms chat :)

I can't seem to get this app to work on Moto Q by Sprint. I am running wm5

oldSAP said...

what is the error message on your Moto Q sir?

Anonymous said...

I am using tmobile dash wm6.

The program seems to work correctly but the received IMs don't show up in the chat window. They just go straight to the normal message center. Also, I'll get random errors from random *.exe. I'll post them when I get another.. I can't recall the names atm.

Have you applied this?

The one thing i'd love to see is...
if you send a message and there's no reception at the time, the message is put in queue in the outbox, then sends when you get signal. I recently broke my MDA, and tmobile gave me the dash, the last program I used had that. Don't know how difficult that is though.

oldSAP said...

a good idea! i'll try to create a "RESEND" feature for the SMS Chat :)

Will this newer version work with Moto Q with MOL2/3?? Will it actually send the messages?

oldSAP said...

i'm not sure if it will work on Moto Q but would you care to try it and maybe post your finding here? Thank you.

Anonymous said...

Yea and it doesn't work.. Also just recently after a couple of text messages I'll send a message and it will say "Message can not be sent" but it still sends... and when I exit the program and re-execute it gives me this error "An unexpected error hass occurred in SMS Chat.exe Select Quit and then restart this program, or select Details for more information." When I re-execute the program it still gives me the same error even after a phone reset.. The details are "SMS Chat.exe InvalidCastException at Microsoft.VisualBasic.CompilerServices.Conversions.ToInteger() at Dash_SMS_Chat.Form1.Form1_Load() at System.Windows.Forms.Form.OnLoad() at System.Windows.Forms.Form._SetVisibleNotify() at System.Windows.Forms.Control.set_Visible() at System.Windows.Forms.Application.Run() at Dash_SMS_Chat.Form1.Main()"

Hi Justin, i released a 9-24-07 build which would fix the error. Also, ive fixed the Reset Counter problem. Kindly reinstall the new cab file so that the config.ini file on your phone will be updated too :)

still not working on the tmobile dash

oldSAP said...

may i know the error message on your tmobile?
as i've stated in my post, i've tested it on TMo WM6, HTC Russian ROM, and HTC WM6 ROM, and they all worked.

i tried on sprint moto q newer version. and progran loads fine and i tried sending a text to my self. it sends fine but when i receive it i do not get words the message comes back as "@ooooxx"

oldSAP said...

I tryed to uninstall SMS chat and now speed dial doesn't work and I get error messages

oldSAP said...

Hi, there is no connection between sms chat and speed dial.

Installed this on my samsung blackjack. Works well except can not see the inbox. Everything else seems to work good. I have been looking for months for a chat style sms and this looks promising. I am also interested in something that has password protection. Password protection on the blacklist or (secret list) would be my ultimate. I would pay at least $30 if that could be done. Not sure that this was intended to work on WM5 but thought I would try it.

oldSAP said...

Hi John, thank you for trying out my application. I can add the password protection for the Blacklist. May i ask what the Inbox problem is?

Unknown said...

Let me explain further. When I run the program I get no inbox. The start page looks like this. http://mysite.verizon.net/jcpettinelli/Screen003.jpg

I see no way through the menu to see a traditional inbox. I am not sure of any other way to explain it. It there another way that we can contact each other so we don't clog up this post? I can give you my email if that is ok with you.

Thanks!

Anonymous said...

any way to delete individual messages?...or threads?

oldSAP said...

@John, the start page does look like that. You can scroll thru your contacts inSMS Chat by toggling the dpad left and right while the contact box is in focus. You can send me a message at charliesl45@yahoo.com.

@ anonymous, using the dpad, move to the chat window (topmost box) then press "D" to delete the whole chat window. to delete individual lines of the chat window press "L" instead.

oldSAP said...

Hi steph, there might be a couple of hotkeys that won't work for moto q. I'm currently re-coding the program and i'd be glad if you could work with me on it :)

"how do u get the in coming to show up in same window it shows up in diff window from outgoing"
- kindly check if the phone number in your phone book has a space in between the numbers. please delete the space. it might fix the problem.

oldSAP said...

"aim" - i don't think there is a relation between sms chat and aim.

Unknown said...

thanx man i got the window issue solved idk why the aim wont work so i down loaded octro talk i use that instead

oldSAP said...

@mike, i really don't know why it won't work. i don't use aim though.

I would love to use this application unfortunately I use Opera, and that's my default web browser on my Tmo Dash wm6. This program doesn't mesh well when you have opera as the default browser as it opens its long in opera and not in the program itself. Toggling between the two doesn't do me any good. Any idea on how I can resolve that?

Anonymous said...

Just gave sms chat a quick try on my pantech duo wm6 and it works fine so far. One thing I experienced was that the home screen change the color to blue but I was able to reset back to the color I had.

Also, I have already removed the registry entries under rules for another program so I don't know if this needed to be done for smschat as well.

A suggestion will be to add an Icon so SMSchat is more identifiable on the home screen.

love the program, but it sometimes shuts down on its own and when I re-open the program, all of the messages have been deleted. How can stop this from happening? I'd rather be able to manually delete messages when I want to.

Anonymous said...

after the program is invloved do the messages that come in go driectly to your normal homescreen inbox, or is there a seperate inbox all together?

Anonymous said...

How does the Black list Work? I tried adding some numbers and the text still came thru. Please help. Great work with the program. I love it

Anonymous said...
