Silverman-Anderson Score

The Silverman-Anderson scoring system is used from 1956 to quantify the gravity of the respiratory insufficiency (the not-working of the lung)

the evaluation depends on the following signs:
1. Upper chest retractions.
2. Lower chest retractions.
3. Xiphoid retractions.
4. Nasal Flaring.
5. Expiratory grunt.
The best score possible in each category is a 0, the worst is a 2.
