Noise Tracker

Noise Tracker measures the loudness by taking an audio sample and calculating its mean average.

The black bars are the mean values and the current wave is drawn in blue. Don't know yet what a real use case for this app could be. Anyway, hope someone will find it useful. Tested on a wm6 prof. device.

With 'Scale' the bars drawing height of the bars can be changed.
With 'Rate (ms)' the length (in milliseconds) of the audio sample can be changed.

Like most people around here I enjoy customizing my phone. Problem is that copying files and applying a bunch of Registry tweaks by hand is tedious. I've built CAB files in the past but creating the INF files is an ugly process...not for the feignt of heart.

So I created a utility called QuickCab that makes creating CAB files easy. It doesn't support every possible scenario, but if what you want to do is copy files or change the registry, it works quite well. This is perfect for Themes, Ringtones, Tweaks, and Mods.

I plan to add support for Shortcuts in the near future. If you use this program, I'd appreciate feedback. I can't improve it without your ideas.

J2ME Remote Tracker Client App

To use it, install it on any J2ME device that supports JSR120. That is the Wireless Messaging API which allows a J2ME application to send an SMS. The device must also support MIDP-2.0/CLDC-1.1.

Notes
Keep in mind that the SMSs send from this app will not show up in your phone’s sent items folder. You will be charged normally for them of course.
There is only one caveat when using the app: The phone number in the "Send message to:" text box needs to be in the international format (i.e. +44123123123) and it has to have a "+" not "00" (i.e. +44 and not 0044).

Override Green "Talk" Button functionality

How does this work?

GreenButton is an Open Source Windows Mobile 5.0+ program. It runs in the background as a very tiny executable (1kB) that waits for the Green Button (otherwise known as the "Talk" button) to be pressed. At that time, the specified program will be executed.

Advanced Configuration

GreenButton stores several settings in the registry under HKCU/Software/Supware.net/GreenButton:

This is how GreenButton interprets these settings when the green button is pressed (in this order):

If the active window text is found in the "HandleNormally" setting, then GreenButton will just return.
Else If a call is in progress, GreenButton will just return.
Else If the active window text is found in the "SendKeys" setting, then GreenButton will send that window WM_KEYUP / WM_KEYDOWN window messages.
Else If the class name specified by "Activate" setting is found, then GreenButton will activate that window.
Else If a command was specified from the command line, GreenButton will run that command.
Else, GreenButton will run the command specified in the "Run" setting.
How do I specify a program from the command line?
The default program built into GreenButton is iDialer (installed on device). But with a command line option, any program can be executed.

How do I change the program?
GreenButton is activated upon startup by a shortcut placed in "\Windows\Startup". Edit that shortcut (easiest to do over ActiveSync) and add your program as an argument (this example will execute Pocket IE upon Green Button press):

nueGPSSecurity

nueGPSSecurity is a lightweight service that sits between your text message client (using CEMAPI and CellCore). It waits for a text message with a special string, and replies back with your location if it is available.

Basically, it is a free (well, donationware) version of one of those anti-theft software packages. The service works in “stealth”, it hides the text messages being sent between you and your phone.

You’ll need a device with built-in GPS for it to work reliably, though it can technically work with a bluetooth GPS unit. To install, simply use the cab below, however – I highly recommend burning it into a ROM (OEM package should be available shortly – it should be rather simple to make your own- see OEM instructions below).

Right now, there is no configuration UI – I am debating whether one would be necessary or not. The only configuration option is located in the registry, which is the PIN number. It defaults to 0000, and if you want to change it, edit:

The number will automatically be padded with zeros to the left, so "123” is the pin number “0123”. Enter ONLY a 4 digit number max or you will get unexpected results.

To talk to the service, send a text message:

So if your pin number was 1234 and you wanted to get the position, send:

After you have sent the getpos message, the GPS will stay on, so you will probably want to send “stop” to conserve battery when you are done. Also note that text message systems are apparently kind of slow, so expect a 1-2 minute delay in getting your message back… Due to the way operators implement text messaging, responses may be VERY slow if you try to text yourself.

Note: There is currently a bug in the way status works, sometimes it returns garbage – I’m looking into that.

Usage:
The usage is very simple. Just use fingertips to start or stop a timer. If you want to reset a timer, hold down your finger for 500ms. To modify the settings of a timer, tab on the left side icon and the settings will open. The whole application can be controlled with the D-Pad also.
The top notification bar is showing radio strength, battery status, bluetooth status, wireless status and some other informations. Tab on the left side of the top bar to open the main settings screen. To hide the application click the middle part of the top bar. To close it click the right side of the top bar.

Installation:
Copy and run the CAB file on your device. You will find a shortcut to TouchWatch2 in your programs startmenu.

Version 1:
This is a simple timer application with four configurable countdown timers. Set an description and a time (hh:mm:ss) and stop/start/reset timer with your fingers only. No need to use the stylus pen.
Touch the timer ones will start it. Touch it twice will stop it. Tap&Hold the timer will reset it. Needs no more explanation. The app is self explaining.

* If a timer is running your device will not enter standby/sleep until all running timers count zero (configurable). If you want to use a long timer be aware of battery usage. The application isn't able to switch your device on.
* Settings are stored in registry "HKLM\Software\M_G\TouchWatch" and all configurable from the application.

MyTF3DIconExtractor

Automatically extract icons from TF3D

We were asked repeatedly how to extract icons from the only issues for TF3D. The operation is simple but requires several steps that are hand-made repetitive. So we created a simple program that makes this happen automatically. My TF3D Icon Extractor supports the themes composed of many files "* _manila", the issues with. Theme and the themes installed by CAB. In the new version, 2.0, was added support for drag'n'drop, and then just drag the files onto the program window that the whole operation is carried out automatically. In options, in addition to the extraction folder, you can also specify whether to include the Slider or not. The program requires no installation, but only. NET Framework 2.0. It's aviable in Italian and English, but you can add all the languages you want.

LME for Pocket PC

LME for Pocket PC is LME, the programming language of Sysquake, compiled in an application for Windows Mobile ARM-based handheld devices.

It has been tested mainly on a Dell Axim X30 device, but should also run on other Axim, HP iPaq and compatible devices.

LME for Pocket PC is a technology preview. Its user interface is basic, and there is support only for static graphics, not for interactive graphics. It is based on LME, a Matlab-compatible programming language aimed at numerical computing used in Sysquake and other products of Calerga since 1997. You should install it only if you want to bring Matlab compatibility in your pocket.
