Pocket e-Sword [6-22-09]
New VGA Version of Pocket e-Sword released, v3.1.0. Works with WM 6.5
"Freely you received, freely give." (Matthew 10:8)
Jesus told us that since we've been blessed we should bless others. I am happy to provide a blessing to others in the form of free Bible study software for the Pocket PC!
As a Bible student and teacher I have experienced the necessary work involved in searching the Scriptures for the competent preparation of a Bible study, Sunday school lesson, or a sermon. There are volumes of books available as study tools, but there is not enough time, money, nor shelf space to properly take advantage of these resources. Computer software has changed the way we can study the Word of GOD, and now with Pocket e-Sword we now have access to these same volumes of scholarship within seconds, any time and anywhere!
I hope you will enjoy using Pocket e-Sword and that it can be a blessing to you.
In His service,
Rick Meyers
The new Pocket e-Sword is feature rich and user friendly! Pocket e-Sword is developed for the Microsoft Pocket PC platforms, with the coolest features being available under the newest "Windows Mobile 2003". The really cool thing about Pocket e-Sword is that you can have a complete seminary library with you wherever you go!
The layout is pretty straight forward. Tabs give you quick access to the different resource types, and a combobox lets you choose the specific title you want. The Bible view has a Scripture reference button to allow you to quickly navigate to any location in the Bible.
"Compare" just has to be a choice in the Bible resource combobox! Easily compare the various translations to see how they rendered the Greek or Hebrew manuscripts. Notice the Strong's numbers in the KJV+ translation? These links will display the Hebrew or Greek definitions with a simple "tap" of the stylus.
This is what the Strong's display looks like when you tap on a Strong's number within the Bible translations that contain them.
The Commentary view is synchronized with the Bible view. You can also browse to any other reference within the active commentary. Notice the link to other Scripture references? These links will display those Scriptures with a simple "tap" of the stylus.
This is what the Scripture display looks like when you tap on a Scripture reference in a Commentary or Dictionary resource.
Searching in Pocket e-Sword is just as simple as searching in the PC version ... just smaller.
The Daily Devotional and Bible Reading tools will encourage you, and help you read through the Scriptures. These holy habits are a must for every Christian, and Pocket e-Sword is here to assist you in these.
Even VGA and landscape orientation is supported if your PDA is equipped to handle it!
